Parish Pastoral Council
The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) consists of the Pastor together with a group of parishioners chosen by the parish community. They share responsibility for building a vital Christian community focused on living and promoting God's values of love, justice and peace.
Statement
of Purpose
The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) seeks to enrich the quality of parish life and to ensure that parishioners have available to them all they need to grow in holiness and to discover and live out their personal and community call to mission.
What the Parish Council Does
The Parish Council seeks to:
- enrich parish life;
- provide opportunities for parishioners to grow in holiness, to discover and live out their personal and community call to mission to live as Catholics who effectively transform society;
- grow in knowledge and awareness of what is already happening in the parish;
- encourage and support the good work of existing groups within the Parish;
- seek out and respond to the hopes, ideas, needs, and concerns of parishioners;
- evaluate carefully information gathered to make decisions that reflect the values of the Gospel and teachings of the Church;
- set long and short term pastoral goals for the Parish;
- provide opportunities for parishioners to grow in their relationship with God and each other; and
- develop, implement and improve parish initiatives that assist parishioners in their continuing efforts to live ads effective Christians.
Membership
The Council consists of up to fifteen members (including the Parish Priest). The period of office is for a maximum of three years. Vacancies are filled by nomination, arrangements for which are published in the Parish Newsletter.
Current Members
Meetings
The Council meets regularly once per month usually on a Monday evening 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Meeting dates are available from the parish office. Prior to each meeting the PPC Executive which includes the Parish Priest, the chair and deputy persons and secretary draw up the agenda. Members of the Council and Parish are invited to submit items for the agenda.

- Stewardship
- Post WYD08
- Facilitation of Western Hills Youth
- Parish Website development
- Enriching the relationship between the Parish and local Catholic Schools
- Redevelopment of Samford Church
