St. Vincent De Paul Society
The Grovely Conference of the St. Vincent De Paul Society was established in 1951 to service the local communities of: Arana Hills, Keperra, Ferny Grove, Everton Hills, Ferny Hills, Mt Nebo, Mt Glorious, Wrights Mountain, Samford, Bunya, Upper Kedron, parts of Mitchelton and McDowell.
The St Vincent de Paul Society aspires to be recoginised as a caring Catholic charity, offering a hand up to people in need. We do this by respecting their dignity, sharing our hope and encouraging them to take control of their own destiny.
EMERGENCY HELP is requested through the local “Call Centre” (3010 1096). The following day, two Conference members will visit the caller in their home at the earliest convenient time, all information collected is strictly private and confidential.

Description of a Vincentian:
- A prayerful people who are inspired by the gospel message in their outreach to the poor.
- They hope to lead the poor by example to love God and to see God’s great love for them.
- They are never in a hurry, they give their time and attention, their sympathy, care and compassion.
- They are willing to make sacrifices in their service to the poor.
- They preach the gospel – NOT with words but through their kindness and compassion.
- They strive to raise the poor to the dignity of self-sufficiency.
- They give thoughtful consideration to the noble task of assisting the poor.
- They look for underlying causes and plan carefully how to help the poor help themselves.
- They deepen their own faith as they grow in love for the poor.
Vincentians know that the manner in which they serve the poor is of far greater importance than any materials they may provide.
- A Vincentians outreach to the poor, therefore, is essentially a journey towards holiness, both for themselves and those whom we serve with Christ-inspired compassion.
God has blessed our endeavors greatly we continue to go from strength to strength.
